🌿 How to stay positive on a busy Monday🌟In a world filled with constant distractions and obligations, staying present can be a challenge. But here's the secret: it's not about escaping your busy life; it's about infusing it with mindful awareness. Here are some specific ways to help you cultivate presence:

1. **Morning Rituals:** Start your day with intention. As you sip your morning coffee or tea, savor each sip.

2. **Breath Awareness:** Throughout the day, pause to take a few deep breaths. Set alarms if you need help remembering! Feel the rise and fall of your chest, the sensation of the air passing through your nostrils. This simple act can ground you in the moment.

3. **Mindful Eating:** During meals, put away your devices and focus on the flavors, textures, and smells of your food. Eating mindfully not only enhances the dining experience but also nourishes your body and soul. It also helps you love even more the healthful choices you are making!

4. **Nature Connection:** Spend time in nature if possible. Get out of the office, or at home get out of your grind. Observe the beauty around you – Nature has a way of grounding us in the present.

5. **Single-Tasking:** Instead of multitasking, dedicate your attention fully to one task at a time. Whether it's work, reading, or washing dishes, immerse yourself completely in what you're doing.

6. **Mindful Listening:** When in conversation, truly listen to the other person. Put away the urge to formulate your response while they speak. Be present with their words.

For me, mindfulness is a practice. It's okay when my mind wanders; I gently guide it back to the present without judgment. As a recovering perfectionist, embracing these moments of presence has helped me discover a deeper connection to life's beauty. 🌼

Can you believe my art scarves go through this last step?! 😂 Puffy clouds of wool get a warm soapy bath and rolled, then this step is called “fulling the wool.” It’s amazing to me that such a delicate appearing art form survives this step!

🔥 An allegory for life…after the ups of a warm bath and the downs of getting smashed, something beautiful emerges.

🌸 I plan to embrace todays ups and downs by remembering in every moment that I’m doing the best I can with what I know. 🌸

I used to shy away from calling myself an artist.

I used to shy away from calling myself an artist. After all, I haven’t been to art school. Imposter syndrome was living large. If I call myself an artist, people might criticize me. They may scoff at my self-proclamation.

Truth is, we are ALL artists. As humans we are born to create things, and the ways to create are as numerous as the souls on this planet.

You are an artist. You are an artist in the kitchen. You are an artist with the creative solution to that work problem. You are an artist volunteering at school and in the community.

And let’s go larger. You are anything that you declare that you are. Which means we can declare ourselves as victors or losers. I’m sure I’m not the only one here who has declared to myself that I’m blowing it in some way.

That behavior does not serve us. Declare what you love about yourself. Flip negatives to positives. Remember that age old adage that people believe what we believe, so why not be first to believe in YOU

Life hasn’t always been a smooth journey for me. Like ocean waves, I’ve experienced the highs of parenting and career, and the lows of cancer and divorce.

Sometimes, I felt lost and uncertain about my purpose. When I found out I had late stage cancer when my kids were under three, I was on my heels. After years of hiking and biking, eating well, exercising and prioritizing sleep, I was in disbelief.

After my recovery, I’ve been on a decades long path of self-discovery and transformation. Through the highs and lows, I learned to embrace my inner strength and resilience. And I found my path.

I want to help anyone who’s ready to find their path to joy. I’m here to guide you on your unique journey.
